·        Dolores Rufenacht, Neighborhood Safety Committee Chair

The Bike Safety Event on July 25 turned out well. About 20 people attended the event     and 18 participated in the bike safety historical tour. I feel this would be a good event to repeat again next year during the Staycation or middle of July.  Next year we need to start in March to contact resource people to attend and businesses for sponsorship.

NNO went well this year. There were 23 block clubs who had parties Aug. 3 .

Aug 2,  we assembled and distributed packets to those block clubs with district 10 information, safety information and prizes donated by the SPPD.

The Aug. 11, NSC meeting was a Community Police Meeting, about 20 residents attended. I would like to plan a Community Police Meeting in April, 2011 as a crime prevention tool to educate the residents before the time of year when crime rises.

·        Josh Witte, D10 Neighborhood Safety Coordinator

There was a rise in crime the two weeks during the fair especially in Auto theft, theft from Auto in Sub District 1. Commander Todd Axtell has been keeping us updated in with any developments solving the cases of : rape on Chatsworth, assault at the lake, and the forced house burglaries that happened this summer.

There was an Open House August 17 for all resident in St. Paul to tour the St. Paul Central Police Station and meet the new Chief Tom Smith. There is an open house Sept. 21 from 6:00-8:00 to tour the new Western District SPPD and meet Commander Todd Axtell. All residents are welcome

Crime prevention  information was added to our website with links to other resources and safety tips.
