Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!--Sue me, I love the snow!

Here’s what’s goin’ on in Como…

1      Yoga-or should I say Sno-ga.  (That was Josh’s punJ)  I just checked the weather, 50% of snowfall before 10am.  Don’t let that stop you, we are Minnesotians!!!

2      District 10 Pancake Breakfast on Halloween9-11AM.  Family Fun for everyone! Costumes Welcome! FREE Job Corp Haunted House –if you dare!!! (Actually is will be gentle fun for the little ones!)

  • Kids get free safety blinking light for Trick or treat fun and safety
  • Kids get free Census trick or treat bag
  • Free coffee cups for the Coffee/Tea drinkers
  • Tickets are:  $5- Adults  $3 -12 and under FREE -3 and under

Get your tickets at the door of the Job Corp’s lovely Café space.  1480 Snellng Ave. North.

4        Parking/traffic - If you have concerns/comments about parking and traffic issues in our neighborhood, please mark your calendars for these important meetings.
a.    Nov. 17, 7pm Street Car Station- Regular Board meeting.-Please  note that original Oct. Date was changed due to annual elections.

5  Como Town is looking for some feedback.  If you would like to let them know your thoughts, what you liked, what you didn’t,  go to: bri@comotown.com

6  The Parks Commission is meeting at NW Como Recreation Center (Hamline/Hoyt) on Oct. 14, 6:30pm.   Michelle Furrer from Como Campus will be recommending that Como Town replace their pea gravel play area with a splash pad.  You can attend the meeting and comment if you would like.  http://www.ci.stpaul.mn.us/index.aspx?nid=244 for more info and the agenda.

7    With a landscape that includes Minnehaha Falls, Como Lake,  Mississippi River, and the Chain of Lakes,  the Twin Cities always  possessed remarkable features.   'Parks for the  People' recounts how these places came to be and the unique place  the Twin Cities park systems hold in the American landscape.   TPT Sun., Oct 11 at  6 p.m. and at 8 p.m. (MN channel). http://www.tpt.org/parks
