The District 10 Como Community Council's "Como Composts" initiative in cooperation with the Ramsey County Master Gardeners will be hosting a Sunday educational presentation on May 31st. The presentation will be at the Street Car Station, 1224 Lexington Pkwy. N, from 2 to 4PM. The subjects to be covered will include "Backyard Composting for Beginners", "Diagnosing Common Backyard Composting Problems" and finally "What are the uses of Compost".
The City of St. Paul has made a strong commitment to help its residents reduce, recycle and compost. Each year the City of St. Paul partners with local district councils to organize six citywide community cleanup events for residents to dispose of large refuse items, recycle materials not accepted in the residential collection program, and share usable goods with others. The first cleanup of the year will be on Saturday, May 30 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Washington Tech Maget High School (1465 Rice Street). Please contact the District 6 Planning Council if you're interested in volunteering (651-488-4485).
