ComoFest 2017: Fun Every Weekend in July

ComoFest returns in 2017 with affordable, family friendly fun (almost) every weekend in July and in every part of our neighborhood. Here's a sneak peek (or, download the flier from the right column).

Friday July 28-Saturday July 29: Northwest Como Movie Night and Campout

  • Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a jump castle, climbing tower, and other family fun activities.
  • A free outdoor showing of the movie “Finding Dory” begins approximately 8:45 p.m.
  • Concessions will be sold from 6-9:15 p.m.
  • The evening ends with the annual family outdoor overnight campout. To reserve a camping spot, register online for Activity #12307

Saturday July 29: Community Appreciation Picnic

Sponsored by TopLine Federal Credit Union. Food, giveaways, face painting, fun.

  • Who says there is no free lunch? Ha!
  • Plus Como Park's "shortest marathon" -- 26.2 yards -- to benefit the Animal Humane Society.

Friday July 14: District 10 Ice Cream Social
A night to enjoy free ice cream (donated by the Humphrey Job Corps Center), lawn games, live music from Paul Seeba, giant bubbles from the Bubble Barron, face-painting, and the best neighbors in the city just hanging out in the park with each other and their kids. Extra bike parking available.

Saturday July 15: ComoFest Art Fair
Arts and crafts for sale, plus live music. On the Promenade of the Como Lakeside Pavilion. Download a roster of artists from the right column.

BONUS: Free yoga class, courtesy of Studio M Fitness, outside at the Pavilion at noon. Bring your own mat if you have one. 
Saturday July 15: Beloved Studios Summer Party
Food, fun, sun, art show featuring local artists, music featuring Union Junction, studio open house
Friday July 21: Lyngblomsten Mid-Summer Festival
  • 2-8 p.m.: Arts showcase featuring works by older adults; art and wellness activities for all ages; games for kids; music, dance, and theatrical stage performances; live music and community dance under the Big Tent

Friday July 21: North Dale Movie Night
Enjoy a free outdoor showing of "Sing" at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs/blanket and bug spray.

Saturday July 22:  ComoFest 5K Walk/Run for Everyone
Sponsored by the Como Park Falcon Heights Living at Home Block Nurse Program.
  • 8:30-11 a.m., from the Lakeside Pavilion, around Como Lake (twice), 1360 Lexington Parkway N Register here
  • Proceeds help support the Como Park-Falcon Heights Living at Home Block Nurse Program, which is a non-profit that helps seniors remain safely in the home they love! Advance registration (before July 15): $20 for participants 12 and older; $10 11 or younger. Registration July 15-July 22: $25 / $15.
  • T-shirt and race packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m.

BONUS: Free yoga class, courtesy of Studio M Fitness, outside at the Pavilion at noon. Bring your own mat if you have one.
