Committee Purpose The Environment Committee works to maintain, protect, and improve the environment of the District 10. This work has included instigating the creation of the Capitol Region Watershed District, initially to improve the water quality of Lake Como, assisting the St. Paul Parks and recreation department in cleanups of Como Park and the Como Lake lakeside, removing buckthorn within Como Park and creation and oversight of the Como Woodland Outdoor classroom. The committee acts as a liaison between the community, District 10, government and regulatory agencies, and private businesses to improve the environment. Monthly Meetings The Environment committee meets on the third Wednesday of every month, and meetings are open to the public. Committee members are comprised of District 10 board members and community members. Upcoming meeting dates, times and locations are posted on the District 10 meeting calendar.
