Street Car Station
Present: Kim Moon, Kevin Dahm, Frank Dolejsi, and Linda Hinderscheit
Absent: Chris Harkness, Amy Perna, David Sorenson, Bill Sylvester and Alison Kirgis
Call to Order: Kim Moon called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Adoption of Agenda: Motion to approve the agenda (Hinderscheit-Dolejsi) Passed.
Approval of Minutes: Motion: Approve the minutes of the 07/06/2015meeting. (Dolejsi-Moon) Passed.
Chair Report: Kim Moon spoke with Janice Rettman about Connect St. Paul. It doesn't appear to be a priority on the Mayor's agenda for the City at this time.
Twin Cities German Immersion School Sign Variance: Evelyn Stillwell was present to represent the school's request for our support for a sign variance. They would like to post two signs on the new entrance (Como side) so it's more readily identifiable as a school. They have asked the neighbors who face the entrance, and they have no problem with it. Another neighbor was present at tonight's meeting, and he had no problem with the sign.
Motion: Write a letter of support for the German Immersion School's request for a variance for signs to be posted on either side of their new entryway. (Dolejsi-Dahm) Passed.
Revision of 2015 Land Use Work Plan: We discussed how to reformat our current work plan to reflect the Land Use section of the new District Plan. Linda volunteered to do this. She will send it out before the next Land Use meeting for the committee's review.
New Business: Frank brought up Dr. Marie Wang's change of nonconforming use (zoning) from a law office, photography studio, and apartment to psychiatry office and apartment. We had received an email notice from the City. Dr. Wang did not approach D10 with a request for our support. We decided to take no action.
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Next Meeting: The next meeting is Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Street Car Station.
Future meeting dates: 10/5, 11/2 & 11/30
