Request your ballot now to vote in the 2020 board elections for the Como Community Council.

Because of restrictions on public gatherings, we can’t hold in-person voting this year. Instead, here’s how community members can vote absentee in the District 10 elections:

  • Fill out this form.
  • Choose to vote online. That is the quickest and easiest way for all of us. We will send a unique, secure link to your email.
  • Or, request a paper ballot. We will mail your ballot, which you then mail back to us.

Absentee voting allows more people to participate more on their schedule; it is more inclusive than requiring people to vote in a particular place at a particular time on a particular weeknight.

Who can vote – and when
Renters, homeowners, and other residents of District 10 who are at least 16 years old can vote. So can representatives from business, nonprofits, or other organizations with a physical presence in District 10.

Voting begins on Tuesday June 2. That’s when we send out the first online and paper ballots. We will continue to fulfill ballot requests during the two-week voting period. Voting ends at 7 p.m. on Tuesday June 16.

Online: You can request an online ballot until 5 p.m. June 16; you must complete the ballot by 7 p.m.

Paper: You can request a paper ballot until Wednesday June 10; however, we must have your ballot in hand by 7 p.m. June 16. If you don’t believe the post office will deliver your paper ballot in time, you can drop it off in person at the mailbox outside the District 10 office. The mailbox is adjacent to the parking lot outside the Como Park Streetcar Station, 1224 Lexington Parkway N (at the northeast corner of Lexington and Horton).

What’s on the ballot

Board seats on the ballot this year are:

  • vice chair
  • treasurer
  • one representative from each of the neighborhood's four sub-districts
  • two representatives from the neighborhood at-large.

Those positions serve two-year terms. In addition, there is a special election to serve the 10 months remaining on a term from Sub-District 4, which essentially is South Como and Energy Park.

Information about candidates will be posted on the District 10 website before the voting period begins.
