District 10's Pathways work group is seeking community input on a new set of recommendations on how to improve paths, signs, and navigation for pedestrians and cyclists in Como Regional Park.

You can download a draft of the recommendations from the box in the right column. The recommendations include suggestions for:

  • Creating a master map and more detailed maps for five sections of the park.
  • Placing kiosks in strategic locations of the park that contain details about park attractions, and how to get there while walking, biking, rolling, or using some other form of non-motorized transit.
  • Utilizing icons, colors, and other standardized designs to make navigation easier and to reduce language barriers.
  • Adding two-way bike routes in the park, especially in locations where travel is now difficult in certain directions.
  • Improving the aesthetics and safety of park paths, especially around the lake.
  • Repaving specific segments of paths and ramps.

In 2018, the work group asked users of Como Regional Park for ideas on what would make it easier to get around the park. More than 550 people responded. The work group now has compiled and prioritized all that advice.

The work group will present the results on Wednesday Feb. 27 (rescheduled from Feb. 20). Drop in from 6-8 p.m. at the Como Park Streetcar Station, which is at the northeast corner of Lexington and Horton. They'll do it again on Saturday March 9 at 2 p.m. Both sessions will feature an open house format for the first 45 minutes, then a more-formal presentation with additional question-and-answer time.
